The main driver for 10.04 on atv was so I could run upgraded myth FE (0.23). I have applied your suggested changes and got a very minimal setup of ubuntu 9.10. Even with this, I cannot use Mythfrontend 0.23 even under ratpoison, memory use is just too high, swapping is rife. Doesn't matter what OS I'm running, the 0.23 FE alone really wants more RAM than atv has.
Looks like XBMC is the way to go on the ATV. It doesn't grab hundreds of MB of RAM. To use that it doesn't really matter if I use 10.04 or stick with 9.10... So in summary you can use Lucid on atv, but not myth frontend 0.23. Unless you really don't mind the swapping. Paul.
