Robert, Thanks again for the help. I think that I'm experiencing something similar. Some recordings do work. Others don't. It looks like it might have something to do with the signal strength of the incoming channel. The recorded shows from weaker channels will not playback (I get a black screen and can't get back to the myth interface w/o rebooting - I can still SSH to it, so it's not completely locked up). It's strange though. Watching live TV on these same channels does seem to work, although I've had one lockup even on live TV, but in the middle of a program rather than the beginning. I'll look into transcoding. Do you think this might be remedied by moving up to mythtv 0.23?
