First of all, I must say that I am very impressed with and grateful
for the quality of the atv-bootloader project's code and
documentation. Installing Linux to my Apple TV has turned out to be
quite fun :)

I am wondering if anyone has been able to boot the Server or netboot
versions of Ubuntu 10.04 Lucid Lynx. I was able to install the
standard desktop version, but it consumes almost all of my ATV's
memory and is unnecessary for my purposes (I am not interested in
running MythTV, rather, I want to use my ATV as a quiet, low-power,
always-on network server, and a text-based command-line interface is
preferable for that). I can't seem to figure out the correct kexec
parameters for booting either of these versions (yes, I have read up
on how to use kexec and why certain keywords are needed for getting
proper graphics). My only guess is that because these versions of
Ubuntu don't use casper, the instructions for booting a Gutsy Live CD
(http://code.google.com/p/atv-bootloader/wiki/
BootingLiveCD#Ubuntu_7.10_Gutsy) aren't applicable. FWIW I also
haven't been able to boot the Alternate version, although that isn't
what I want to install.

With regard to the netboot version, K. Vargas posted earlier saying
that he was able to boot the Lucid netboot installer by creating a
hybrid of the Lucid initrd and the Karmic vmlinuz. If anyone could
give me the general idea of how one would go about creating such a
hybrid, it would be much appreciated as an alternative to getting the
Server version to boot.

Thanks in advance for any assistance :) I'm hoping to have my server
go live within a week before I start school again.
