I assume you used some sort of package manager to install the broadcom
STA driver, could you show which one you used and it's version.

After installing the broadcom STA driver, did you have to perform any
kind of configuration with it?  Does it come with a GUI or something?

I also suspect the /etc/network/interfaces is the same regardless of
which driver you use.
Could you provide it as well.
