IIRC (from the experience with Gnus trunk and v5-10 branch), Miles has
no problem when the *same change* is installed in both. (The slightly
different ChangeLog entries may cause some inconvenience.)

Bug fixes should go into Emacs 22, I think. (And Richard explicitely
requested to install the fix in the Emacs 22 branch.)
