I was wondering about the current state on forward/inverse search in
multifile documents? Is it supposed to work?
Yes.
'xdvi-motif.bin: Fatal error: ~/CVS/work/main.dvi: No such file.'
My guess is that the ~ character is at fault here. ~/ is not a
regular directory name in many circumstances.
Ok thanks for the answer. I don't know much about this, but I think the
problem is related to the 'xdvi-jump-to-line*'-functions in
'xdvi-search.el' I'm using xdvik-22.84.5 and xdvi-search.el revision
1.34.
The reason I think so is because after having replaced the relative
paths
in the '%%% TeX-master: "..."' declarations with absolute paths it works
(if I use 'xdvi-jump-to-line-fullpath'
Is there a reason you are using xdvi-search.el? AUCTeX has pretty
solid facilities for both forward and reverse search built in. We
have taken a lot of pains to make it work optimally, and so it is a
bit strange if people use other packages and then complain that it
does not work.
Ok, my mistake. I've removed xdvi-search.el and things work perfectly now.
Based on the information on the xdvik-webpage I was under the impression
that xdvi-search.el was a requirement for this feature to work.
