I am trying to install auctex with XEmacs under Windows: I have installed XEmacs-21.4.19, and I downloaded acutex-11.82. I try to stick to the installation instructions for Windows, so I am using MSYS and I type:
./configure --with-xemacs='C:\Program Files\XEmacs\' --with-texmf-dir='C:/loc altexmf' checking whether make sets $(MAKE)... yes checking for a BSD-compatible install... /bin/install -c checking for date in ChangeLog... 2005-12-17 checking for release in ChangeLog... 11.82 checking for C:\Program... C:\Program Files\XEmacs\^ checking if C:\Program Files\XEmacs\^ is XEmacs... cat: ./conftest-3516: No such file or directory configure: error: Unable to run C:\Program Files\XEmacs\^! Aborting! To make things a little more fun, the number in "conftest-3516" changes every time I try this. What is this all about? Alternatively, I have tried downloading the precompiled version of auctex and copying it directly into my XEmacs directory. However, the files auctex.el and preview-latex.el do not seem to be included in this precompiled version, so I can't seem to be able to activate the package in XEmacs. Any hints? Cheers Axel _______________________________________________ auctex mailing list [email protected] http://lists.gnu.org/mailman/listinfo/auctex
