You can find the diff at

that to a file in the build directory where font-latex.el is located
and call `patch <patch-file>'. After that you can reinstall AUCTeX.
A better choice than patching is probably to download and install a
development snapshot of AUCTeX. You can get one at
<URL:http://theotp1.physik.uni-ulm.de/~ste/comp/emacs/auctex/snapshots/>.
I got the update and it "partially" works.
1. $a_{b_{c}}$
2. $a_{b^{c}}$
3. $a^{b_{c}}$
4. $a^{b^{c}}$
For 1 and 4, it works very well. For 2 and 3, it is still difficult to read
{c}. Please let me know if your updates. Thanks.
