No, this should be fine. By the way, are you sure you mean emacs23 and not emacs22? emacs23 isn't even in sid. (Emacs 23 is not released yet.) >> How did you install AUCTeX? > > Some time ago, but I presume I just installed a stable deb package > under debian etch. > >> > Is this file supplied by the debian auctex package? >> >> No. > > Do you mean that it is no longer supplied by the recent versions of > AUCTeX? It was apparently supplied by by 11.83-6 version. Well, the Debian package will provide a tex-site.el, but certainly not at the location you mentioned (unless you used the source package and compiled AUCTeX yourself). It will rather be below /usr/share/emacs22/site-lisp/ or similar. >> > So would a simple >> > auctex uninstall-reinstall be likely to fix the problem? >> >> No. > > So what do you suggest? Compiling auctex from source? I'd rather get rid of the cruft you have lying around in your home directory and which interferes with the Debian package. -- Ralf _______________________________________________ auctex mailing list [email protected] http://lists.gnu.org/mailman/listinfo/auctex
