The result is:

TeX-source-correlate-method-active is a variable defined in `tex.el'.
Its value is synctex

Documentation:
Method actually used for forward and inverse search.

I think I forgot to mention explicitely that I use MikTeX (although
this could be inferred from my mentioning that I use Yap).  Is Yap
likely not to be ready to deal with SyncTeX?
