I've recently upgraded to 24.2 from Damien Cassou's Ubuntu ppa, and easy installation methods for auctex no longer work.
1. Installing the auctex .deb package : doesn't think emacs24 is a legitimate flavour. This is probably being fixed by Debian / Ubuntu (I saw bug reports). 2. Installing from ELPA gave me an error; last few lines from *Messages* shown below. Does anyone know if this looks like a problem with my setup or with the package? I'm running Lubuntu 12.04 (64bit). ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Generating autoloads for ../../../../.emacs.d/elpa/auctex-11.86/context.el... ~/.emacs.d/elpa/auctex-11.86/auctex-autoloads.el and /home/mandar/foo/emacs.d/elpa/auctex-11.86/auctex-autoloads.el are the same file Generating autoloads for ../../../../.emacs.d/elpa/auctex-11.86/context.el...done progn: Args out of range: 65497, 141713 Args out of range: 65497, 141713 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- I finally set it up in $HOME/emacs.d and am using "load auctex.el" as suggested in INSTALL. Auctex itself is working fine (I think). Thanks, Mandar. _______________________________________________ auctex mailing list [email protected] https://lists.gnu.org/mailman/listinfo/auctex
