No, I've just checked. It comes from the amsthm style, and if you have
a \usepackage{amsthm} in your doc, then the \theoremstyle{...} is
properly highlighted in purple.
It might be that this is not already in the version of AUCTeX you are
using. The relevant changes to AUCTeX's amsthm.el are from April 19th,
2013, which is newer than 11.87 and thus currently only available in the
developer version.
