Mmm I can't help there as I have a 32-bit system. But I've heard it's
always possible to install 32-bit programs on a 64-bit system (they go
in the \WOW\ directory). A web search should help solving this.
Yes, I know that. But, at present, I don't want to have both versions of
Ghostscript installed.
Meanwhile, I tested your suggestion concerning the preview-gs-command
variable on a 32 bit machine and it worked. Thanks a lot. I find it
strange that this step is not mentioned at the AucTeX installation manual:
