AUCTeX doesn't provide autocompletion in that way, I guess you're using a third-party package for that purpose. If you want to unleash AUCTeX's power, use C-c C-s to insert a new section, C-c C-e for a new environment, C-c C-m (or C-c RET) for a new command.
