Audacity's source code (including the website source) is now hosted in
Subversion at Google Code. The repository is at
http://audacity.googlecode.com/svn/
however it is strongly recommended no-one ever tries to check out the
whole of it, because it's 6GB on disk (includes all the old branches and
tags).

The source code to Audacity can be found at
http://audacity.googlecode.com/svn/audacity-src/trunk/
and to the website at
http://audacity.googlecode.com/svn/website/trunk/

As a result the audacity-cvs@lists.sourceforge.net mailing list is no
longer being used. It's replacement is audacity-...@googlegroups.com
http://groups.google.co.uk/group/audacity-svn

Anyone who wants to receive notification of changes to the source code
should subscribe to that list.

To browse the source code on-line see
http://code.google.com/p/audacity/source/browse/audacity-src/trunk

Check-out from these URLs is anonymous (no authentication required), see
the instructions on
http://code.google.com/p/audacity/source/checkout

Developers will need to check out over https using their google account
username in order to be able to commit changes back. The password for
this is _not_ your google account password, but the randomised one you
can obtain by visiting
https://code.google.com/hosting/settings
(whilst you are logged in to google, obviously). Most Subversion clients
will cache this for you so you don't have to remember it.

There isn't a mechanism for migrating your working copies, so existing
users will have to check out fresh ones and migrate any local changes
across to them.

As of now, we are un-frozen, and you can all start committing again!

Richard
