Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit testing 2.1.0 rc1 Definitely *not* a developer
machine ;-))
1)  Downloaded as a zip download from Foshub and copied thefiles to the Program
Files (x86) folder.
2) Runs fine, but I did need to delete my plugins .cfg in order to avoidhaving
a duplicate copy of plugins from my previous alpha test download.
3) Ran it through both my main workflows3.1) Record one-hour show with Timer
Record (with +5 mis on each end)Top and tail it to remove the 5 minute
contingency audioNormalize to -3dBExport to MP3 at 160 - plays fine3.2) Record
"pseudo LP" (actually FM)break into labelled "songs" with point labelsExport
Multiple to 16-bit WAVall fine
4) I tested all three hosts MME, WDS & WASAPI with both input from myEdirol
UA-1EX external USB soundcard, on-board mic & stereo mix with all three hosts.
Also tested WASAPI loopback. All worked fine as expectedWASAPI loopback still
has the ganged sliders which affect just the heard sound level but not the
recorded signal level - as expected and noted elsewhere.
5) Pressed lots of buttons and menu items that I normally never go
near,couldn't break anything.
6) Test all effects (with the exception of the Spectral effects - Spectral
stuffremains a mystery to me).  All fine, except I found one regression
bug:http://bugzilla.audacityteam.org/show_bug.cgi?id=882which I marked as P4 as
it is a regression - but it fails gracefully and informatively.
Looks good so far - I will continue testing. I do have a for-real two hour show
tocapture tonight with an unattended TR recording which will be processed
tomorrow.
Cheers,Peter.

RM announces Audacity 2.1.0 RC1 cycle.

To be consistent with prior agreed time of 21:00 UTC, this will be
longer than 48 hours. That is, it starts now, but will end at 21:00 UTC
on Wednesday March 4.

All the RC1s are posted, at

* SourceForge:
https://sourceforge.net/projects/audacity/files/audacity/2.1.0/

* FossHub: http://www.fosshub.com/Audacity.html

Thanks to Steve and Leland for putting together the Linux tarball so fast.

Per step 11 at
http://vjohnson.users.sourceforge.net/Audacity_2.1.0_release_agenda.pdf:

"RM announces start of new RC 48-hour testing cycles. Testing takes
place for 48 hours, iteratively, until we achieve an RC that we agree is
final. If an RC fails, we fix the problems, then go back to step 10.
When all RC's of next set are posted, deprecate the previous posts.

* Test installers and zips, including over existing install.

* Test on non-developer machines, for runtime issues. "

Thanks,
Vaughan
