New GPlus Acccessibility Community, Now Opened!
You heard that right folks,
Steve Sawczyn, @steveofmaine on the Twitter, has created the G Plus Accesibility community, for blind and visually impaired users who want to start learning about and using Google Plus on the web, Android, or on iOS platforms. Google employees also frequent the community as well.
Currently in its infant stage as of this moment still, but now is a great time to start learning it!
NB. If ya get a message about joining a "Preview," please do so! Then, hit your "questionmark" key, for a list of keyboard shortcuts to navigate around, and for commenting/posting within the community itself.
Why jump to the new "preview" interface that's replacing the older one soon? Way! better accessibility, is made forth there.
For best experience, switch the browse mode hotkeys of your scr een reader off, unless you are using System Access, Narrator, VoiceOver, or Chromevox like I am.
For NVDA users, its Shift-NVDA-Space.
For Window-Eyes users, its CTRL-Insert-A.
For Orca users, its Orca-A Twice.
For Dolphin Screen Reader users, its Left-CTRL-8.
For "Shark" users, see "Settings Center" or "Quick Settings," and look for "Allow Web Application Reserved Keystrokes."
