Keep in mind you have to do the bit with the glass in the first room before you can end the level. When you shatter the glass, it makes a bunch of slimes appear. If you haven't done this first, the level will not end.
Anyway, the part you're missing is that once you defeat the lamps, the door re-appears on the left side of the room. After you've gone through that door, then you run to the right to complete the level.
