The NVDA SAM driver requires SAM to be installed on your system, so you can't use it in a portable copy unless SAM is installed, usually done with a SuperNova install. As far as I know, the driver is mainly optimized for Orpheus 2, and so if you're going to change a few settings with Orpheus itself, like voice parameters, you will need to launch SAM Configuration and configure Orpheus from there, because NVDA's native voice settings dialog only has rate and voice as your options when using SAM with NVDA.
