The scanners may vary. You could choose anything from Plastek opticbook, I think I will buy Plastek OPticbook 3800, or HP ScanJet 2500 Pro.
As for OCR, You could scan a page with any of these scanners, and use ABBYY fine reader 12 pro. I've been using it since October, and I still thank my friend to this day for recommending it to me. It is accessible, +it converts images with text to microsoft word or PDF, saves the interface of the page with not only plain text (black and white), but also keeps pictures, tables, bold, underlined, indented, coloured text. +ABBYY is the best tool for converting PDF documents to word documents.
If you buy one of these scanners, (Opticbook as far as I know comes with ABBYY fine reader sprint), you will also get software to do your work.
