It is discovered that Visual Studio 2015's C++ compiler inserts code to use Microsoft's telemetry services into any binary, whether test or release, that it compiles. The data may be sent to Microsoft, although it will be of limited use without the corresponding symbols. MS says that it will remove the functionality, but is, of course, reluctant to say when, exactly.
Sigh.
