I can't remember exactly but I think it cost €4.99 when first launched, and the in-app purchase of unlimited lives costs another €4.99 now that the 1.2 update has been released.
The smaller packs of fewer lives (always a specific given number) are significantly cheaper than that but the drawback is their principle, that is being a limited count of lives. :-)
Lives work in such a way that you start with 7 of them at the beginning, if I remember correctly, and whenever you die, it takes about 20 minutes for this lost life to become available again. That means that if you manage to die 7 times in a row in less than 20 minutes, you have to wait a while before you can start a new round or continue the last reached level where you died. :-)
The life recharge counter keeps going and counting even while you play, and I believe it even works when the app is not open or is running in the background. With the unlimited lives purchase, all of this hassle is gone once and for all.
