I wouldn't say it is a very hot country, yes, the temperature does reach around mid forties in summer, but I would say that Australia is much more harsher in the terms of temperature.
As for the current situation, you see, there are these big mountains around the area of Kashmeer. so whenever snow fall takes place in those mountains, the entire subcontinent cools down. leading to much more grumpy behavior from me.

I will agree with you on the topic of moskitos and flies, of all the species humans are killing, they couldn't have killed the species which bother them the most?
