To be honest, I don't pay for JAWS licences, there's an organization here in Quebec that buys jaws licences for VI people amongst other services of orientation and mobility. They give you a cane, braille display, victor reader, pretty much anything that would help you. It's part of the free health care I think. And when I'm working, the employer pays for the jaws licence.
In the end, I don't know if jaws is better or not than NVDA, but I'm more used to jaws, I'm very proficient with it.
