Re: The newest problem to plague sbyw

Actions will speak louder than words, but I have no intention of being the angel or devil on your shoulder going "Hey, you know that thing you just did? Don't do it again". I'm not going to shadow you and act like your conscience, but I hope you can turn it around. I've said all I intend to, but I stand in pretty much the same place.

Jimmy, if someone was really taking advantage of an underage person, your appropriate response would be to either 1. try and get authorities involved or 2. report the situation to whosoever controls the website, and let them try to administrate it. I'm glad you recognized your mistake though. I'm not quite seeing how your publishing that person's password actually stops them from abusing someone - it just sounds like more drama and a pegged-together reason to me - but sometimes we do really silly things for reasons we think are good at the time. Believe me, I know plenty about that one.
As I said, I'm definitely not out to set any fires or to trash anyone. I don't believe in kicking someone when they're down. I also don't believe in people getting off the hook, either, which is why I said what I said. Beyond this quick response, I'm done here, though I'll keep an eye on things to ensure nothing gets wildly out of control. I hope this thread has mostly lived and died, as so many threads do, and that positive change is the ultimate result.
