Re: How should mainstream developers make interfaces accessible?
OK, so when talking to devs, talk like a dev, even if you aren't one. This is what I might say if it were me having to explain this.
On Windows, you have shared libraries, and redistributable packages. It's very common to bundle such packages in with your installer. After installation; however, the library is registered with the system so that any app or game can use it later down the road. In this same vein, don't re-invent the wheel. Instead, push the console makers for a single solution, a single API or built in screen reader that makes itself available to games upon request. This will allow you to focus on what you do best, creating great games, while your accessibility team takes feedback and implements things specifically needed for the particular game in question. This not only saves space, but saves plenty of work instead.
