Re: My Decision for player safety, encourage other developers to do the sa
You know what really pisses me off? Philip releases an engine to make audio games, great! Then he decides to abandon it after I don't know how many people purchased it. Then he can't or won't contact antivirus companies and say "Hey, I'm the software vendor for this software. Please stop flagging programs made with my software as viruses when they clearly aren't.".
Granted, someone with malicious intent could probably make a virus using BGT, but I doubt 99% of these games are viruses. Then again, you can easily make malicious programs in any language, so I don't know. Does Philip bother doing any of that? Not at all!
I have to agree with post 1 here. Stop making your games using software that's no longer actively maintained, has no possibilities for a visual UI, and is flagged as malicious software by 99% of antivirus software. That last point is really what irritates me. That's something Philip should have resolved years ago. Adding exclusions to play games that are flagged as false positives is unacceptable!
