I was initially bummed out after discovering this. I had to restrain myself from posting something really awful. I'm much calmer now and I don't hate Liam. Now that I've played the gamebook a few times, it's actually rather amusing. I like the time of day system. That is really cool! I'm personally not a fan of April Fools, and I think that's what irritated me the most.
What's the TV scene advertising Super Liam II? Is it the show about robots destroying things? If so, it makes sense why you would dream about the whole X1 world and your adventures in it.
