IMO that's not even an unreasonable model, because people still get 80% of the game (with no time limitations like a normal demo) and 5 bucks isn't allot to ask when his customer base is so small. I doubt he had any sound costs, and the idea isn't that original or anything, but unlike Sam's runner it's actually out, and beyond that you can't ignore the time it took to code it.
It's all within the timing... In other words: if you'd put the price tag on those features, before you release the game, then you give customers already black on white what they'll be paying for etc. This would be the same as suddanly wb games would ask 2 usd to unlock the storry mode, or 3 usd to access towers of time, after the game is being played for say a month. This still, however, to my humble opinion, doesn't at all, excuse deleting the topics, after all, it's not because the dev gives up, that those games stop existing, is it?
