But that's down to the way said movies are distributed though. Again, if you want to be mad at anyone, be mad at the way movies (and TV) is distributed.
Spotify after all, and services like it, did put a dent in music piracy because oh look, there's a fre* (with adverts and other restrictions) way to get the music you want. No, not every artist is on there, and Spotify is in legal battles, but.....for the most part, Spotify is able to give you the music you want, when you want itt. But look into how much work and negotiating with the record labels it took to set that up and keep it how it is, how much it takes to keep it running. Part of those deals to get, say, Kanye and Bieber on Spotify is this....there's region locks in place. Even so, Spotify is a free, legal way to get your music when you want it.
Now imagine that but for audio description. It'd be a metric fuckton of hassle to set up having to negotiate rights in each country with each movie studio for each movie. But on the flip side, once it's done, and if you're smart and negotiate correctly....it'd be a one stop shop for audio description, free, legal, easy.
