i read the article. i dont want to spend so much on ipods, and use iTunes. really the problem with rockbox is, that it supports only old players, so it will be more and more hard to find new ones if something dies inside them.
i am starting to consider to buy the olympus dm-770 (yes i know its a recorder). it has the mp3 player part, too. as it looks good, not like the devices specifically for blind. like the evo e10 and similar. i dont want flat things with lots of buttons. i saw the evo e10 this friday, and the looks are just strange. yes, you might say, but the functions are inportant. if i dont like how the particular device looks, i will have no motivation to use it.
