Re: Warsim, text based randomly generated stratogy

Hello,

just had a few ideas for things you could add to the game.

As is usual to most of the Fantasy genre, and not by itself a bad thing, most of the mythical creatures are Western in nature.  in the game. I have seen Kappas and Tengu, but here are a few other ideas for non-western creatures to add to the game, either as aniamals or races.

Inkinanka: a violent water Spirit in some African cultures
Hu Shien: a fox-like trickster spirit in east-Asian culture
naga: snake-like intelligent wise creature from Indian mythos
Garuda: strange bird creatures from Indian folklore
Abata: sort of like a donkey-unicorn but sometimes has two horns and is seen in some North-African mythologies.
Piri: female benevolent genies of Arabic folklore, usually seen as relatively weak compared to other traditional genies.
genie-ghouls: originally, ghouls were a kind of Genie in Arabic folklore that ate the dead, perhaps bringing that back in some way.
Efreeti: malevolent genies, often associated with fire in classic myth.
Marid: often associated with the color blue, Maridi were believed to have nearly limitless power and were widely believed to be the most powerful of all genies (the genie of the Magic Lamp story is often said to be a Marid in the oldest known texts.)
Djinn: often used interchangeably with both genie and Jann, Djinn are rebellious magical spirits in Islamic folklore that rebelled against god but didn't fully become wicked and thus are not fully devils either.
Jann: Janni are widely believed in myth to be one of the weakest of Genie types, name often used interchangeably with Djinn and Genie, , however, they technically represent the weakest of malevolent genie types.
Dao: a genie-like creature more associated with central Asia and Mogolia, usually seen as violent, greedy, and evil, and have a much more fiendish personality, even moreso than most other evil genies.
Thunderbirds: sort of a lightning version of the phoenix in Native American Cultures.
Rainbow Crow: messengers of the weather and spring in some Native American cultures.
Bunyip: mischievous and evil invisible spirits of the waters in Austrailian folklore.
Leviathan: vague giant monster of Hebrew folkore, a lot of leeway as to how you could handle that one.
Behemoth: other vaguely-defined monster of Hebrew folkore, also a lot of leeway.
Lillend: tempting female evil spirits of Hebrew folklore, similar to succubi
Hags: witchy evil creatures, often seen as fey or spirits, that take the form of horrible evil beings with horrible magical powers.
Jotun: a specific family of sometimes-good, sometimes-evil giantish beings of Norse Mythology, in some ways more resemble destructive forces of nature rather than just large people, which might justify making them a separate race.
Firb Bolg: strange beings that enforce pacts of Celtic folklore
Fommer: Fommers are primordial beings that ruled the world and competed with humans in ancient times, eventually coming to a sort of truce with them. Giantish but strange, more magical/druidic than big bashers.
Fomorians: hideous warped giants of Celtic folkore, Have strange curse magic and also have a druidic flavor to them. Sometimes used interchangeably with Fommers but differences in mythical treatment exist.
Oni: super-smart, cunning ogres of Japanese mythology. Smarter, more magical, and more nuanced than ogres of western folklore.
Kitsune: usually female-only, mysterious fox-like beings that can shapeshift from 9-tailed foxes into women, similar backstory to the Selkies of Celtic and Irish folklore. Also used to explain Foxfire/st.elmo's fire/ignis Fatuus/will-o-the-wisp conditions in swamps.
Chupacabra: vampric monstrocity from Latin-American folklore.
Sasquatch: many other names exist, ape-like creature originally of several cultures' mythologies in North America, made popular by famous hoxes portrayed throughout the 20th century.
Yeti: Strange creature of Himilayan folklore, usually imagined as a large white, alpine ape.
Undine: water spirit of Paristalsus theory, supposed to be violent and usually seen as female, though masculine depictions exist.
Salamander: fire spirit in Theory of Parastalsus, more of a living flame than an amphibian as depicted.
Sylph: air spirit in Theory of Parastalsus: Usually depicted as a whriling cloud, a baby, or a winged woman, supposedly friendly.
gnome: I know you have these but alternate type idea: earth spirit of theory of Parastalsus, much more directly connected to the earth and rocks than most fantasy gnomes.
Shade: spirit of darkness in theory of Paristalsus: is actually the being that causes darkness and is rather ephemeral.
Lumina: light spirits of theory of Parastalsus: meant to represent both the mental and the process of light, often represented as moonlit strange creatures.
Dryad: You probably already have these but additional variant type idea: spirit of life in Theory of Parastalsus. that empowers living creatures. This version would be more abstractly plantlike rather than just being a female tree spirit as the Greek versions are.

I don't know, what, if any of these you have, but just added a few for fun.
