I'm going to chime in here real quick and say that I'm on both sides of the argument. On the one hand, I do think that people should make the transition from BGT to an actual programming language, IF THEY WANT TO ACTUALLY PROGRAM SOMETHING. Also, given how BGT is no longer being updated anymore, I think people should make the transition to something else before BGT stops working with the latest version of Windows. However, if people want to make games easily without being versed in an actual programming language, I say all power to them to make that choice. Also, I agree with amerikranian here, learning how to code from a college course is way different than trying to go solo.
