Re: YouTube - Content Creators: What's new?

Going back to Zoren's post. A sensible solution to the problem addressed, one which will of course never happen.

If we expect them to watch all videos to the end, among their attention wavering, it would also drastically slow down their productivity.

When Aira, a mostly remote company, have staff meetings, everyone feels a part of the team, and as such, never mind the fact that they're working remote, everyone is expected to have their phone off as if they were in the office. That way, everyone's attention is centered on their virtual place as it were. The Youtube Kids review team would ideally consist of cohorts, never just one person watching a video. That way if someone does miss something which, admittedly does happen, chances are one of the other two people watching might've caught an exploit. If it were to be a job within the Youtube offices, then chances are Google already has computers with facial recognition, so as long as they were completely aware that their face would be tracked in-house and not used for advertising purposes, their Youtube setup could be configured to automatically pause the video if their face starts to doze off, and log the ineptness if it becomes a repeat problem. If working remote, again most newer phones/tablets have facial recognition of some kind, so it wouldn't be too hard to implement something like that. To prevent people from being overworked, I do believe it would not be a problem if Youtube Kids had a maximum of video uploads allowed per month by non-industry amateurs. Anyone who uploads a video after the monthly allocation has been reached would be put on a wait list, and would not have to pay the fee until they were guaranteed a date of review, with the option to back out and try again later if they pleased. That way, they can set aside somewhat more predictable spaces of time to review videos if, say, only 50 were allowed per month vs an unpredictably high amount. It would also encourage true digital wellbeing practices for the kids with a quality vs quantity approach. May get people to go out more, you know.
Again. None of this would actually happen under the current climate. But this is how it ideally should be.
