Hey, wanted to necro this thread for inspiration!
In the spirit of necroing,, let's start with a few undead or ghost type suggestions!
grauntlet (undead)
Grauntlet is a Grauntlet is a single disembodied gauntlet, apparently made of some black metal. The bones of an ancient hand rest within the armor, and a glowing blue eye stares out from the gauntlet's metal palm.
Grauntlet's gender is distinguished by the kind of gauntlet they are: a left gauntlet is always female, while a right gauntlet is always mail.
should definitely learn: a handful of punches plus glare maybe tri-beam?
Tomight (undead/fighting)
Tomight is a headless humanoid with rotting gray flesh and bone plating around its single arm and legs. It wears a forearm-length black gauntlet on its arm, and the glowing blue eye on its surface is the only one it has.
The gender of a tomight can be distinguished by the hand it wears the gauntlet on: right-armed tomights are male, while left-armed tomights are female.
should definitely learn: some elemental punches + necro jab.
Barrord (undead/fighting/magic)
Barord is an enormous four-armed humanoid manamon with no head. Rotting gray flesh visible through the joints in the bone armor which grows from its body. The two larger arms which extend from its shoulders end in bulky gauntlets of black metal, a glowing blue eye imbedded in each palm; its two more spindly arms have no armor and rest in the protective shadow of its larger pair, clearly designed for more delicate precise maneuvering.
It is said a barord can only be created when a male and female tomight merge; thus, they have no single gender.
should definitely learn: conjure sword plus limb thrust
I imagine this line as a slow but bulky physical smasher with awesome coverage.
malnome (ghost)
A tiny frail-looking humanoid with pitch black skin, and a head devoid of face save for two large white eyes. It wears a hooded robe of what looks like mist, and tendrils of the same ethereal substance curl and writhe around its hands.
It is said malgnomes were once the spirits of builders, architects, and artisans who--for some reason or another--have turned to violence after death. The shapeless mist around its hands can be shaped into a vast array of tools and weapons, though the exact scope depends on the malgnome. If the legend is to be believed, they are the tools it was once proficient with in life, now turned to a new, sinister purpose.
Should definitely learn: stone throw, startle, dissonant chime, grave gun, the hammer moves, conjure sword, white lance, smoke and mirrors, stone pyramid, elemental assault.
Like marlaunt just better. Though if a second typing is added that's cool to. magic maybe?
Vartin (water/poison)
Vartin is a tiny dart-like fish. Its scales are always vibrant shades of green, with a layer of silvery geometric patterns across them. Vartin have no mouth. Instead, their front ends in a collection of incredibly sharp, thorn-like black spines. These spines glisten with an eerie sheen.
Vartins live incredibly fast and violent lives. They can only move in straight lines and have no method by which to slow themselves. They only stop by colliding. In fact, this is how they feed: they propel themselves at incredible speeds and rely upon their incredibly sharp teeth To drill a hole through prey. They rest for long periods of time within the body, dissolving and consuming flesh long after the host has died. Some believe a vartin's teeth are actually laced with dark matter.
I'd also like to see some kind of evolution for skeletone. Not sure what though. I'm imagining like a giant skeleton ape with a tiny bone flute.
Slari (poison/magic)
A tiny green serpent, with subtle hints of gold to its scales. Tiny membranous wings allow it to fly, and a cobra-like hood veils the humanoid head.
Sanperae (poison/magic)
A tiny, faeri-like creature, with the lower half of a snake and the upper torso of a human. It flies and hovers on a pair of diaphanous insect-like wings, and a scaled hood shadows its face which is also human, though its eyes are slitted and its tiny mouth sports a set of venomous fangs.
