Re: My new view about spoken menus in mainstream games

Of course menu accessibility isn't everything. The trouble is that games like crackdown 3 are already finishd. From what I know, crackdown is an open world fps, and once a game like that is finished, retrofitting it for accessibility is really difficult, time consuming, and certainly not good for profits. If the next crackdown game were to be built with access in mind from the start, then great. You'd be able to get a lot further. Right now though, menu naration is probably the best we'll get. Same with minecraft. The menus and chats may read, but the core gameplay is simply too visual at the moment. The best thing people could do would be to create a minecraft clone based on the information contained on the minecraft wiki and other fan sites, with access considerations so it would be playable even if you couldn't see the blocks. And ifnally, someone please nudge 2k games until they promiss to make civilization VII accessible whenever that comes out... tongue
