That is weird, Dark.
There is usually an imm on the game, so you might ask if you see one.
If not, there's usually a few high level players that can tell you how to handle it.

As for the spiders, they are way way down in the cavern, so you shouldn't run into them.
Maybe they were in different places when you played earlier.
As forAlexandria, I haven't got there yet either, but if you stay on the path, and avoid the plains beside it, you won't get ambushed by whatever that thing is that kills you immediately.
