Most of us do. For those that don't, not everyone owns an external harddrive or USB flashdrive or SD card, and as easy as these things are to obtain, not everyone wants to. There's also the fact that vm ware is 10 times easier to configure for newbs, and these days audio latency just isn't a thing provided you know what you're doing and know how to fix it.
Still, I'd always recommend installing windows properly as supposed to going the bootcamp way. Of corse you'll need a windows machine or vm to use the media creation tool with, but it has far less issues than bootcamp does.
