Re: Accessible Second Life Client Radegast 2.30 released!

yeah, I know you can pretty much do anything you want, but one place where an audio tutorial would be nice is one where you go to and do every day stuff, because until the virtuals comes out this is as close as we'll get. Back when I played, a lot of stuff was age restricted for me, and most of the places I couldn't figure out what to do, so I'd just go to listen to the sound scape, using SL as a sort of relaxation soundscape machine... LOL. Obviously there are several places that do the same things, for example, fishing, but what I think we need is an audio demo not necessarily showing how to use the client but just showing what you can actually do to supliment the VA staff training. I'd love to be able to sort of treat it like a version of the sims where I have to eat, shower, and what now. One other thing I've been disappointed in is the lack of sound. Especially footsteps, I would've thought that Lindon would have made some basic ones that would trigger for different serfaces to make it more realistic, but nope.  Yes, there is ambient sound and some places have sounds for certain actions like casting a rod, but I guess sense you could create anything, souund design or a lack of is purely up to the creator of what ever world, plot, area, you're at, I don't know what to call them, but you know what I mean, the place you're in, sense they're all on different servers of sorts attached to what ever SL server you're on. I've looked at the new radegast, and don't notice any difference from when I last tried it back in 2015 or 2016 I think. Still, an audio demo of sorts not necessarily explaining how to play but just going through some places that have activities that are accessible and clearly labeled would be nice. Of course, sense it is so open and anyone could create anything, just like any game service or really anything we blind users use,  there will be varying amounts of ease and success with it. Last time I tried it, I  didn't understand how fragmented it was, and thought it was a game where no matter where I went things would be seemless. How wrong I was. Anyway, about that recording, you didn't sound bad. One bit of advice as a sound engineer, in some cases you sounded like you were too close to your mic. If you don't have a pop filter for it, if it's not your laptop mic, if you have an old sock that is missing it's mate, you can use that as a make shift pop filter to reduce the harshness of your plosive sounds, that's the pops of your p,and the hiss of your s.
