No water propper water resistance is a bit of a turnoff for me for these products. I'd rather use my normal white cane and occasionally run into things I couldn't find rather than something that is ruined if some rain touches it. Though in terms of such tech in general, I'm hyped for advances in this field in the 20s. Since the tech you need to run such devices is getting even cheeper and even low-end sensors are becoming more powerful, I'm pretty confident we will see a propper smart cane that can do more than just being a shield for objects on the ground. It's just very unfortunate that the blind institutions over here can't seem to catch onto trends like these in a timely fassion, I've never heard of these things and people working with them till now, and never from any austrian institutions.
