@9, links being taken down is not about whether they link to viruses or not. At least, that's not the complete reason. The reasons for that are:
(1) the link may be a virus and therefore harmful to anyone who acquires it;
(2) the link may be explicitly requested to be removed by the author; or
(3) the link may be a violation of law.
In any of those cases, the mods don't have much choice in the matter but to remove the link. Audiovault is explicitly a massive site full of copyright infringement (irrespective of what the owners say) and therefore its not only illegal to utilize content from it, its also a legal problem if someone on here links to it because it could harm the site as a whole.
