Re: Corona Virus: is it the beginning of the end?
488, do you honestly believe that? Does this look even slightly like it will be over anytime soon? There has been no peer reviewed studies demonstrating that that drug is effective against coronavirus, yet Trump and some countries have rushed to use it, despite the presence and risk of disabling, and possibly deadly side effects. And for impeachment, he did say he will run for office again, and you could impeach him if he gets reelected.
489, there are substantial differences between the spanish flue and coronavirus. Firstly, many people had some level of preexisting emmunity to it, as it was a flue virus. With the possible exception of MERS and SARS patients, which are few, noone has existing emmunity against coronavirus. Emmunity against this virus will be achieved by vacsinating at risk populations, not purposefully letting everyone get infected. At this stage of human knowledge, herd emmunity is gennocidal mass murder, and a bone headed idea. Look how the UK tried it, and what became of that. This is not humanity growing soft, it is the result of the mostly extermination of extremely darwinistic schools of thought, such as eugenisists, who want to basicly kill off certain parts of the population.
Reopening of countries will only be achieved by agressive testing, and contact tracing, and legally enforced isolation of those infected, and those exposed to them. Check out Singapore's and South Korea's very successful coronavirus responses, and compare the outcome to Trump's response, and you will see why this method is effective.
