Nah a 3ds wouldn't take up any noticeable space at all, and you can get them on the cheap these days especially if you go for the 2ds and use headphones over its mono speaker. That will grant you access to rhythm heaven ds, and megamix. If you just wanted 1, then megamix has most songs from the other games, and there are a ton of other playable games for the backwards compatible 3ds.
