I would like to make a suggestion and tell you to switch to Reaper. Never really used goldwave, I used to use audacity a lot (made an entire record on Audacity that came out really good for what it was), but Reaper allows you to do non-destructive editting in real time. Like others have said, use a compressor and EQ to smooth out the voice tracks a bit, not just on the s sounds, but in general, to make it sound more in the pocket.
I'm interested in hearing some of these TTS productions, BTW.
