Re: Favorite Harry Potter paring or parings.
I'm not really a fanfic fane, since I prefer to go with author's work that has an editor etc, and much as I enjoy harry potter there are lots more books and worlds and characters out there to explore, so moving on is good (something hollywood should realise).
However, I will say my one major problem in the books is Harry and Jinny.
Jinny is just waaaaay! to perfect. She's a quidage player, and better at pranks than the twins, and awesome at magic, and all the boys chase her, and she had a major crush on Harry as an eleven year old. She was just far too obviously written to be Harry's girlfriend, rather than someone in her own right.
My wife and I are both convinced Harry should! have ended up with Luna Lovegood.
Luna is a distinct, if dotty person in her own right, she has her own skills, and is probably the kindest and certainly one o the most empathetic people at Hogwarts, indeed after Sirius' death, Luna is the one person who makes Harry feel better.
he even took her to Slughorn's party, and they just got on as friends.
personally, we tend to think Nevil, the quietly awesome super guy, should've ended up with jinny, and Harry, should've ended up with Luna, the nicee, decent natured eccentric.
then again, since Mrs. Dark is rather a Luna Lovegood sort , being gentle, kind, and very, very eccentric herself, albeit her hair is russet brown rather than dirty blond and she certainly doesn't have protruberant eyes, I admit I am rather biased here .
