Hate to be the barer of bad news, but apparently Script hook does not work in this version of the game. NOt much we can do about that.

13 bucks. No Steam. No Epic Games launcher. Only a slightly annoying but semi-decent accessible Rockstar Games Launcher, who's only real problem is extreme sluggishness in the web wrapper. IT isn't free, but it certainly beats the msrp, and eliminates the middle-man as a distribution network no longer stands in the way between the game and the Social Club/launcher.
