i think for a game as complex as this you'd need some form of play through. i don't mean from start to finish because there's no real finishing point is there. but for example, giving the newbie enough info to get them on their way. for example, starting out designing your own ships researching and surveying then colonising your first planet. that's a start. then if you wanted to include combat and the like you could but what's more important i think is to see how those screens work with a screen reader and how to interpret the various pieces of information displayed.
i have to confess every time i open the game up and i certainly do open it, i'm like shit where do i start. you could almost compare it to not doing housework for a month and then deciding to do it but because the place is in such a state you just don't know where the hell to begin.
