BGT is the only thing that needs this because nothing else uses setWindowsHookEx, because in practice we don't want to capture the keyboard globally and only apply the presses when our window is focused. But it's doable anyway, just no one has bothered perhaps, or you haven't found the right one that can handle it anyway.

It would take you 3 or 4 if it's doing what I think. There's some research groundwork, I think you'd have to bind 4 or 5 functions from Windows that never get used but I don't remember which.
