Putting in a plug for Triad City. They do have somewhat traditional classes, (warrior, thief, magician etc), but you can’t choose a role till Level 10 and you can take on a few roles at once as long as they don’t directly conflict. There are combat elements, but they’re not mandatory. Neither is rp, though it’s encouraged., The active player base isn’t huge, but for the most part everyone’s very friendly and helpful to newbies. If you like exploring and worlds somewhat different from the MUD norm, TC might be worth checking out.
