Agreed. Dropbox is great for short-term hosting, where you want people to be able to download files, but you aren't concerned with the long-term stability of the links in question. But everybody knows that sooner or later you're going to need that space being taken up by those old files nobody has downloaded or talked about in years, or you'll stop using Dropbox altogether for some reason, etc. In short, Dropbox is great in the short term, but not for long-term link stability. If you want long-term link stability, pay for a web host of some sort, and put the files there.
